Our Community

Parents Association

Every parent is a member of the Parent Association (PA).

Get Involved

A deeper sense
of community.

The PA supports the school in many practical ways—from fundraising activities like our annual fair, to festivals and social activities, to the parent craft group, school clothing stand and weekly market stall.

Children love to see their parents volunteering in the life of the school and active involvement builds a deeper sense of community.

The PA meets once or twice each term and all parents are welcome to attend. PA meetings provide an opportunity to connect with parents from other classes, and to learn more about the school through updates from the Principal and Business Manager. At the meetings we also decide where fundraising money should be directed to best support the school and children.

Some examples of programs and projects funded in part or full by the PA include:

  • The Parent Education program, which offers parents and the wider community a series of talks and workshops on a range of topics;
  • The PA subsidises the music ensembles program, which offers children in classes 4–6 the chance to participate in a music group;
  • Upgrading playground equipment and school grounds (e.g. piazza/water feature);
  • Purchasing new sporting equipment and musical instruments.

We’d love to see you at our next meeting or you can contact us kamaroi.pa@gmail.com
